Southern Unscripted
Southern Unscripted is a podcast rooted in real conversations, honest reflection, and a little everyday chaos. Hosted by Sarah Derouen, this show is a space for unfiltered talks about life, growth, relationships, business, wellness, culture, and everything in between — the kind of conversations that don’t always fit into a neat category.
Some episodes are solo and reflective. Others are conversational and interview-based. All of them are intentional, authentic, and rooted in curiosity rather than perfection. This podcast isn’t about having it all figured out — it’s about talking it out in real time.
Season 2 marks a new chapter: more intention, more presence, and conversations that feel meaningful instead of rushed. Expect thoughtful insights, honest opinions, laughs along the way, and stories that feel relatable — like sitting down with a friend who’s navigating it all right alongside you.
New episodes release biweekly, with occasional bonus episodes when inspiration strikes.
Welcome to Southern Unscripted — real life, real conversations, no script required.

This episode started as a conversation… but it turned into something way deeper.
We throw around the term “girl’s girl” all the time—but what does that actually mean? Because supporting women isn’t just liking posts and hyping each other up when it’s convenient.
In this episode, I sit down with my friend Stephanie Walker and we get real about what it actually looks like to be a girl’s girl in real life—not just on social media. We talk about support, boundaries, honesty, and the hard truth that sometimes loving your friends means telling them what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.
We also dive into why women can be so mean sometimes… and how a lot of that comes from hurt, insecurity, and past experiences. And if we’re being honest—it can make it hard to trust and open up to other women.
This episode is about changing that.
It’s about learning how to show up better, love people well, and move with intention—without losing yourself in the process.
And of course… we had a little fun with it too. 😂
